In the current era of nostalgic lookbacks to legendary artists and bands of the late 20th century, the musical landscape in 2026 continues it's trend of "tribute" acts showcasing classic bands of all rock genres.
Yet beginning far before this trend way back in the late 1990's, an ambitious group of local musicians from the city of Rochester, NY decided it would be fun (and musically challenging) to pay tribute to their collective heroes "The Cure" by creating a showcase of their musical discography to be performed live.
That early collaboration gave birth to Disintegration, a tribute to The Cure.In the years since inception, Disintegration has shared their performances in, and around the Northeast U.S. garnering a growing and loyal following, and forging a special bond with immense international legion of mutual fans of The Cure.
Disintegration live, features a diverse mix of music from multiple eras of The Cure's immense library of popular hits as well as deep cult loved cuts, resulting in a dynamic, unpredictable and exciting live performance.
This 6 piece collective of music veterans perform their tribute show, not in a vain attempt to become clones of The Cure, but to deliver a compelling performance as themselves in celebration of their mutual fandom with their audience.
Disintegration's performance is an articulate mirror to every song's character and mood, but always with an attitude and understanding that there is only one "Robert Smith" and only one "The Cure." In that spirit, Disintegration's sole intention is to deliver their best performance to The Cure's fans, simply as fellow fans themselves. This bond and mutual admiration for the diverse history and discography of The Cure with their audience always makes for a memorable and at times, an emotional evening of celebration paying homage for both Disintegration and their audience together.
An evening of Disintegration, spans the decades throughout the evolution of one of the most celebrated and influential new wave/goth/pop bands of our time. The band continues to bring their shows to new fans in 2026, building their following performing throughout N.Y. and points beyond.
